About Us
The main difference with us is that we use what we sell & we eat what we raise! We run Wagyu Full Blood & F1, F2 Crosses and are based in Northern Colorado. Dean and Donna have several full blood Wagyu Bulls and Cows they Cross on other Full Bloods for Seed Stock, as well as on Commercial Angus Cows for F1 Crosses. We have raised our own beef for years and wanted to elevate the meat. Dean got into the Wagyu Full Bloods in 2017 to cross on commercial cows for F1's for meat production, starting with the purchase of Bar V 618D ET " Vince". Recently, Dean and Donna purchased a new Full Blood Wagyu Bull Shogun 7704 (partnering with Don Brown & the Triangle B Wagyu Ranch). "Shogun" is currently the # 1 Bull in the USA BreedPlan and #2 Bull in the World Growth, EMA, MS $ Values Combo.
Dean & Donna also have Dirt work & Custom Farming Businesses as well. Ackerman Distributing has been Family Owned & Operated Since 1969.
When Dean started in 1969 he couldn’t rub two nickels together, and began by building fence & putting up hay. After 52 years in business, he and his family have built Ackerman Distributing into a company known nationwide for selling quality livestock equipment at a good price. Ackerman Distributing is currently the 2nd Largest Titan West Dealer in the Nation, # 2 for Sales w/ WW MFG and is a 6 Million Dollar Dealer with sales from 2008-2017, and is a Top 10 Distributor for Several other manufacturers.
Donna Ackerman has helped with all aspects of the business. Donna has won 13 National & Reserve National APHA Titles, Won the All Around Paint World Title 3 Times & Challenge of the Breeds in 1983. Donna to this day has a very successful Horse Business; Breeding (shipping in and out Frozen & Cooled Semen ); Selling & Boarding Horses.
Heather, “Dean’s” daughter, starting working into the business in 1999 at the age of 12 in Sales and she now manages the Distributing Business. She handles everything from answering the phone/sales to marketing and unloading/loading equipment, sometimes even with 2 small kids in tow! David Badley, has come into the family owned business as he and Heather were married in 2012. On top of David having his own successful Welding/Fencing Business, he helps in Sales, helps load/unload equipment, and handles both the digital beef entries and service/repairs on the Rice Lake Livestock Scales. David and Heather also compete as a family in Cowboy Mounted Shooting (with their two small children) and are getting geared up for some bigger competitions this year!
It’s run like a family farm, ranch operation because it is, we all live next to each other, cows and horses everywhere and the equipment yard in the back. We all work together to make it work, and we pride ourselves in bringing the best livestock, & highest quality equipment to our customers, at some of the best prices in the nation! We use what we sell, and we also butcher (to feed our own families) from what we raise. We appreciate all of our Customers, & Manufacturers and we truly love & feel blessed to do what we do every day! |
